heavy steering

the steering on my 02 psd ex has gotten heavy,fluid level and tire pressure is good,i greased ball joints with each oil change,no frozen caliper pin...i dont know where else to look..any suggestions would be appreciated..70000 miles

Heavy I take it means "hard to turn"?

Is it heavy at speed or only when you're stopped.

Is it a 4WD or 2WD?

steering

it is 4 wheel drive and just feels heavier all the time, i have never changed power steering fluid,dont know if thats necessary or not..

How 'bout pulling the steering stabilizer off and see if that helps? If it does, you'll need to get a new one.

Let us know how it turns out!

The stabilizer hangs down in the 'danger zone" if you ask me. Rocks and stuff could have easily damaged the piston rod causing it to bind up.
