Does anyone have, or know where to get a wiring diagram for a 1972 F-250 for the turn signal switch assy. Original parts were removed and new parts do not match color codes. A generic diagram would help much.
Art, some years ago I got the wiring diagram for my 68 from Johnson's in Framingham MA (508) 872-9173. It was $40 in 01/02. I found him in Hemmings book. I had the same problem sort of, my truck had a hole in the dash for the hazard switch but no switch, I found they rewired the truck and used a factor looking toggle switch in the glove box and it didn't work either. Hope this helps.
Mil1ion I'm no expert but that plug looks like a 73 or newer as all mine (67-72) have been square or rectangular
niether of the two replies help me much. I bought a replacement switch from vintage ford parts and it didn't have a connector on it. The other end of the connector on the truck had been cut out when i got this truck. I have all of the wires, but do not know where they go. I am trying to wire this turn signal switch directly to the truck wiring harness, and need a schematic to show what wire goes where. A plain stick drawing would help, as the colors are not the same, or in accordance with color codes.
we are on the right track, but not quite there yet. The truck that I bought had no steering column in it, and the connector for the turn signal switch was cut and removed. I replaced the column from a wrecking yard, it had no switch. I bought a switch for the 72 model, but it had no plug (connector). I am trying to find out which wire goes where. I have a good background in electrical work, but since the brake light switch also goes through this switch, I am lost as to where the wires go. Thanks for any help that you can give. A 1972 Ford F-250 has a rectangular plug, but alas, mine is missing and the truck wiring harness was cut at the same location.
