Pids

Hey guys. I've got a 2002 7.3. when I am checking the pid values what is the highest the oil temperature should go. Mine says that it is 220. The reason I'm asking is I have a problem when I start the truck & am trying to figure out if it is the oil temperature sending unit or not. Because I've never seen it go below 68 degrees.

here is from the Ford manual:
An Engine Oil Temperature signal detected out of range, high or low, by the PCM will cause the PCM to assume an engine oil temperature of 20°C (68°F) for starting purposes and 100°C (212°F) for operating purposes. The Malfunction Indicator Lamp in the instrument cluster will be illuminated as long as the fault condition exists.
Here is the check forthe EOT:
Key on, engine off.
Engine at normal operating temperature.
Access EOT PID.
Observe EOT PID while tapping on EOT sensor.
Does the EOT value fluctuate or go below 20°C (68°F) (3.82 volts)? If so replace EOT.
Anothe check is
1)Disconnect EOT sensor harness connector.
Measure resistance between pin 1 on the EOT connector and ground
If more then 5 ohms then REPAIR open in signal return circuit.
Less then 5 ohms then:
Key on, engine off.
Jumper pin 1 to pin 2 on the EOT connector at harness connector.
Key off. Is DTC P0197 present? if so Replace EOT
