anyone in the market for running 70' f100 with a 360 and 3 on the tree? i need to get rid of mine to pay off the new toy
Any more you are further ahead getting the whole assembly, as they go by what is called popularity pricing. Buying the joint alone many times is more expensive than getting the whole assembly. Question though, where is the joint located, right off the t-case, or in the axle? the only cv joint should be up against the transfer case. The other joints are just plain ol' u-joints.
There's a u-joint right beside it, by the pumpkin, correct? That boot is just where the shaft slides in the yoke, the boot is there to keep grit and garbage out of the splines. To do the u-joint, you have to take the rotors and hubs off, and the shafts come out the end of the axle.
