Anyone know what this stuff is? Someone told me years ago that it worked magic on his vehicle. I picked up some last night and threw it in my Taurus. The Taurus had an engine light on and the scan said something about the catalytic converter not having enough oxygen. I figured probably O2 sensor so I did all the little things (air filter, PCV, and fuel cleaner) and turned off the code.
Anyway, when I opened the can of BG 44K it smelled "EXACTLY" like mineral spirits. I hope I didn't just pay $20 for a 12 oz can of mineral spirits.

I've used this the 44k for several years now. When I was working for a Toyota dealership we carried the stuff so I would get mines free from the sales rep. The kit back then came with two cans of 44k and a small can of intake TB cleaner. It was recommended by the sales rep. to dump one can in your tank (full) and the other can would be poured into a bladder bag that has a 3/16 hose connected directly to one of your intake vacuum ports. We would run the customer's car at idle with the bag connected to a vacuum line with a restrictor to prevent to much 44k to be sucked in and create a hydro-lock. I considered it at the time a good preventive maintenance but since then switched to seafoam which is alittle cheaper. I believe now they have a seperate canister that connects directly to the fuel rail which runs the 44k directly through the injectors.
