It is the lowest and strongest gear in the tranny. High rpm, very slow go.

Granny Gear is usually an option on Manuals, It will be super LOW. Usually if you have a Granny gear it is for VERY VERY heavy loads. Granny gear is usually about 50% the speed of 2nd gear (which would have been first if you didnt option the GG)
