I read only good things about the Pitbulls before buying... There wasnt much info, but it was fairly positive i thought. I've done BFG (hate) Hankooks, Boggers, and now Rockers. One thing, and most noticably ill tell ya, they are wide! I had lots of problems with my boggers, 15x38.5x16", they say they are a softer rubber compound. They got tore up something terrible, and about 5 puncture wounds to the spines within the year, so i wanted out. These ride way better by far on the highway. They do chase the road crown a bit, but thats due to tire width, and the width of the truck in the driving lane IMO. I've used them for....6 months i guess now, mud, rain, rocks, hot pavement, and snowy roads, and am really pleased. I just tossed 12 ounces of bb's in them, and they are smooth as silk now. Road noise is half of what a bogger has as well. They seem to be wearing great when compared to my boggers, ill have to check the milage on them to get a good idea on that.

Size is 39.5x16.5x16"

Just to give you a little bit of idea, since there isnt much for descent pics of these tires around.

if you dont mind, give some more technical specs... such as, are the sidewalls pretty thick (IE resistant to gashing?!), how do they grab with 25psi vs. 5psi on the rocks, how well do they clean in the gooey stuff?

have you grooved them any or did you leave them alone?

after i replenish the cash i sent to Staz i will be in the market for tires and right now the decision is 44 boggers/44 TSL's but if i find a 'better' tire/tire combo it will be seriously considered.

only reason i havent thought about the pitbulls is they have virtually no reviews. not enough pp; run them yet.... that and the biggest size is 39.5!

I hear ya cutts, for the 40" tire guys, it would be a great choice. I took a ugly rock to the sidewall, and there is a small spot that tried to get punctured, i thought it was toast at first look, but its just into like the outer skin of the sidewall, not though the cord like material, and no leaking etc. The footprint of the tread is super strong so far, even the treads are holding up and not getting sliced up. I havent groved them, and dont plan to. Ive aired them down a bit, not much, as i dont like running on the highway after at low pressure. My all around presure is about 20 front, 15 in the back, and it nets me a full contact patch, on a 12" wide rim. As for the cleaning in the goo, i feel they definitly clean better then my boggers did, as i dont have alot of wheel speed to be effective. I dont blame the boggers, i just know that i dont have the speed for them, and they dig down instead of forward.
I am very happy with them so far. They are nice large size, for the size, they seem to be holding up well for MY type of all around use, road manners arent any worse then expected, and they are just different. Can't complain.
Also, the rim bead protection is Huge, for those of you who want to keep the edge of the nice wheels safe.

Brian,
Thanks for all the info on those tires. Its nice to finally here something about them. I've been looking at getting the 35x14.50 Rockers for my '89 mainly because i'm just not that happy with my pj dirt grips. they're great tires but i want something a little different. I know you said something above about them not being as loud as your boggers, but do they still make a bit of noise? Thats definately music to my hears, I love hearing tires hum down the road. Thanks.

Jeremy

They do have road noise yep, but i was shocked at how quiet they were on the highway for that wide of a 40" tire.
