Ok, so i own a 1997 Ford 250 crew cab turbo diesle. I want to start to fix it up. I want to put a lift kit on it, not to much maybe three or four inches. get new tires and rims, stero system, paint job (its dark green want it black), steps and some other things. Don't want to spend and arm and a leg, my dad is pretty handy at most things and my sister's fiance has lifted about six of his own trucks, so i would just need to know the best for my money.
thing is i really don't know much about any of that, don't want to go to a shop and be duped, want to gain some knowledge. I found this sight and thought hey this is perfect. People who own the same truck as me can tell me what worked for them and what didn't.
The engine is a good one, regular oil changes and tune ups. so what i am looking to do is work on the outside first then on the inside. Any suggestions would be great. Feel free to email me at emailformattphelps@yahoo.com. thanks and ready for yoru advice.
look down the left side for all your needs...there are alot of things youll find...my sisters b/f works for 4wd hardware who owns 4wheelparts....sooo i can get a really good deal, only i wish i could but i wanna start a lfe with my girl, soooo, my decision is tuff...truck or girl...truck or girl....im still on the fence..lol...i would say a 4 inch lift...35" tires and whatever size rim you desire...for the steroe system...where you wanting boom boom or just clean sharp highs with a little bass...since you are crew cab, go ahead and tear out the back seats and put in a wall of 12's...lol...as far as the steps...look on ebay...good luck and post some pics of your rig!!!
well if you have the money...your going to need a deck (aftermarket head unit) new mids, highs, and subs...(your choice on the size's) 2 amps (4 channel for the mids and highs {not necissary} and a 2 channel for the subs...or a mono block for the subs)...and dual amp wiring kit and distrubution blocks...and there is alot mnore you can add to it to make it sound better...in my old 150 i had 2 10" subs downfiring in a custom box i made at work...with 2 tweeters in the center on the box facing up torwards the front of my cab...i had 2 sets of 5X7's in the front and back doors...and a JVC deck...it sounded really nice and i had the amp rack mounted behind the sub boxes so when the seat was put back on everything was coverd up and you could still sit back there...but mine was a SC not CC...good luck and if you need to know anything about the stereo let me know...mydad use to install equipment on the side and was extremely good at it...he once put 24 american bass compitition series 12's in a conversion van with a coffin that came out on a track that had all the amps and crossovers inside...it won at national levels somewhere in florida
