hesitation

I have an 06 screw lariat 4x4 with 5.4l and 4700 miles. When I get on the gas there is a hesitation before it down shifts and goes. Any one have any ideas. I have been to the dealer once and they said there were no codes in the ecm.

I have an 07 Screw Lariat 4x4 with 5.4 and 2500 mi that does the same thing. The dealer says they have had several complaits but Ford does not have a fix for it yet.
Hopefully soon!!

This is my second vehicle with the electronic throttle, and the issue is the same. Seems like the PCM is programmed to reduce power during shifting so that it does not slam the tranny during every downshift. I think the PCM does not apply power until the shift is complete, which would take a fraction of a second.

My last car, an '05 Mustang did the same thing, but I just attributed it to the way the PCM is programmed.

Mines the same way. I hate it. I was so used to my old carb engines that have instant throttle response. It was hard to get used to, especially on a manual.

my truck does it, and my Mustang does it. you can fix it a little bit with a programmer, and the CAI made it a little better, but it's a sad fact of life when you have electronic throttle.
