Intake Elbow?

I heard a lot about these awhile back. There made by a company called Accufab and I think there is another manufacturer as well. Here is a lnk to one place I found that sells them in case you are wondering what I'm talking about...
http://www.lagunaspeed.com/display_p...ty__03-07_.php
It is a Mandrel bent piece of tubing that replaces the stock intake elbow. For a less restrictive flow...
The reason I am posting is I have an early build '03 (build date 01/03). I am "unplugged"and have been for about 2k miles and I love the way the truck is running now. I am getting ready to take off the intake elbow to see if there is a throttle plate, and if there is of course I will remove it.
the question I have is will an '03 6.0L benifit from this intake elbow? If so I will replace it when I take it off.
I have read different threads where people say only the 05-07's have the elbow with a 90 degree bend so these are the only ones that will get a benifit?

Information is always appreciated!

Thanks,

JB

Instead of removing the throttle plate remove the whole throttle body and replace it with an 05-07 Accufab or Intakelbow for the same price as the 03 without all the extra restrictions. It's that easy.

What? Please educate me? I understand there is a servo and censor in there that you are not supposed to mess with is this part of the throttle body?

If you have an 03 motor you will probably have the useless TB. I made the mistake of assuming I had to keep my TB on my 04 X with an 03 motor. After I got the 03-04 elbow, I realized that my TB was useless and ordered the 05-06 elbow. An easy check is to unplug the connectors and look in the TB connectors to see if there are any pins showing. If no pins are showing, then replace the TB and OEM elbow with the 05-06 elbow even though you have an 03 motor. I believe only 04 motors have the active TB.

psdowner......I'm an idiot. I read your PM before I read your last post.

Yes, I have an oem elbow although I have filed some of the rough edges down to see if I could smooth the flow but it is still OK to use. I also have a PDP elbow for the 6.0 TB with the butterfly. Don't know what and OEM is worth but will do some research.

I will check on what I have. PM me on what you might want for it if you are really interested in unloading it.

Unless you have never had a reflash it is my understanding that one of the flashes actually disabled the throttle valve. I intend to unplug mine and remove the whole thing and use a 05 & up elbow.

I'll let you know. Be a week cause I'm headed off to work. It was discussed on another forum and it sounded like you might need some bolts but other than that it sounds pretty easy to do. Just unplug and remove the TB and use the 05 & up elbow.
