I looking for suggestions on how to find water leaks in my 94 Bronco. The rug gets wet on the floor in the back seat on the sides right behind the front doors and also in the back in the cargo area. I suspect the seal between the fiberglass roof.I took all the trim off thinking that I was going to tighten the screws but Ford has other ideas. It seems there are tamper proof screws holding the top down (look like Torx screws with a pin in the middle) I also have the cracks at the back of my rain gutters on the roof. I don't know if thats where the water is coming in at or even if it's possible for water to get inside from that point. I'm going to seal them up with silicone tommorrow anyway. I'd be interested to hear about anybody's experiences with this type of problem.
Yup. Been there, done that. First found water in back area. Pulled off plastic panels and worked my way forward, which happened to also be uphill. Water was coming down the inside of the pillar behind the door, near seatbelt reel. There it transfered over to the floor area. Was small crack in rain gutter above side door window. Doesn't take much of a crack, especially near the rear of gutter. Silicone caulk did the trick. Did both sides, as I found a crack on the other side too, but not as large, yet.

Thanks for the reply's.I sealed up the rain gutters and that solved 1 leak. I have another leak in the back above the rear window. I'm thinking possibly leaking around the 3rd brake light.I'm going to check that today.
I can pretty much guarantee the water in the rear is coming in where the shell and tailgate meet (right in the corner). Bend down and look where your shell meets the tailgate and there is probably a gap there. It goes right around the glass. The seals are not cheap, about 140 for both sides and you have to take off the shell to put them on. The seal that attaches to the body and goes around the tailgate has been discontinued by Ford. Trust me, I've done everything besides buying the seals and it still leaks. I'm going to buy the weatherstrips in a couple of weeks. Hopoe that will work.
