While replacing the uppipes, I had the turbo removed, so again thanks to the guys at FTE for "teaching" me tha PMS, I figured what better time to replace the o rings, then I figured I'd strip the IC tubes and get them powdercoated. Then of course comes the CCV mod. I didn't read up on it because I was all full of grease and figured "how hard can it be?" I reversed the vent, used the existing black hose elbow and coupled a 5' piece of 3/4" id hose. I went under the master cylinder and shoved the hose through a space between the firewall and the wheelwell, and tucked it up along the brackets for the running boards. When it came to dealing with the intake pipe, I copied from the Harpoon mod, I heated up a putty knife and cut off the inlet that stuck up inside the pipe. Then I used a 1/2" carriage bolt filled the hole with silicone and tightened the bolt down. I cleaned all the excess silicone. Will this be OK? Basically it's the stock pipe so that it will bolt back onth its mount with a small dome of steel inside. What do you guys think? Also, with the PMS in full swing. where can I get a set of upper IC boots in non stock colors? Any ideas? Thanks again, Dan.

As long as there are no leaks, I would imagine it would be just fine. Keep an eye on it for a while to make sure it will hold.
Also, where, besides the one they sell at ITP, can I get a metal engine cover. I cracked the plastic one with my fat but kneeling on it. I'd like to get a steel one that I can get powdercoated to match the IC tubes.
Well, if you don't want to use the carriage bolt mod anymore just get a 4inch section of 4" pipe to replace the plastic stocker. metal is the best but PVC willl work in a pinch.
