Dumb question, George....does it make sense to wait so long to file? Is it because people owe, or are they just procrastinators (like me!!)

It really doen't make any difference when you file. The IRS system is so automated now that returns are screened by computers and given a score. Based on the score given, usually determines whether a person will further screen the return.

Just be sure if you file for an extension to file, you pay the tax that may be due, otherwise penalties may apply.

In all honesty...mine have been done for a couple of weeks. I was just curious.

Also, did anyone you know use the "Storm on the 16th" extention that I heard about on the news? I got a kick out of that one!

Actually Federal returns for all states were due on April 17th because of a holiday that Washington, DC has had on their books for a number of years and just came to light this year. Because it is a DC holiday it is also a Federal holiday, go figure.

The IRS said because of the "Storm", they would not charge penalties or interest if the returns were filed within 48hrs after the storm, which I believe would be April 19TH.

I'm in Dover, so it'd be easy to pick us both up. Our bosses might not like it too much though!

I got a set of 30"X14.5 slicks mounted and put on today.
I'm all ready to make another run at the track as soon as we get a dry day that is.

What brand slicks do you run?

I need a new set of tires for the Mustang. The Nitto's are bald in the center.
