vacuum pypass valve
frist of all this is a 87 bronco 351w holley four, and lots of vacuum lines. what i'm trying to find out is where should the vacuum supply come from to go to the air pypass valve, and should there be vacuum there when it's cold fast idle, or should it only be there when the engine is at operating temp. my air pypass valve is mounted on the smog pump, and then there's a hose going to the diverter valve which has a vacuum also that opens and closes the valve, and directs the air flow either up stream, or down stream, but my vacuum line to the air pypass valve was disconnected when i bought the truck. right now i have it connected to the egr hose which gets vacuum only when the engine is accelorated coming off a ported vacuum from the carb, and i really don't think this is right, and i'm also smelling alot of pollution. with it hooked up the way i have it there's know vacuum there when i'm at idle, or when cold.so anyway i don't know if the air pypass valve is dumping right or not, and it seems like i heard someone say something about the valve should get some vacuum at idle to keep it from dumping all the time. if anyone could help i would appreciate it. thanks,
