Now I am in debate over switching from the (Stock) 302 that is in my 1984 Bronco up to a 302 with a roller cam. What do you think?. I was in serious debate over going to a 351W or staying with the 302 and someone said something about the Roller Cam 302`s Both Have carbs for fuel.
You don't mention which year the engines are. The later year 5.0 HO roller motor make about 45 more HP than the stock truck 302. 180/225 That was on the EFI motors. The stock 85 HO roller motor in the carb Mustang was also a 225 HP motor, 86 HO roller dropped to 210 First year EFI then back to 225 in 1987.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-Feb-02 AT 03:55 PM (EST)]351w,351w,351w! Much more lowend pulling power. Don't compare mustang motors to truck motors. The mustangs will have more hp, but less torque for a lower rpm. Low rpm torque is what you want. I believe somewhere on this site, some guys where talking about how they swapped in a motor with the mustang efi and were disappointed that their 4000 lb truck didn't perform like the 3000 lb mustang.
