Speedometer reprograming
How do you reprogram the speedo on a '97 diesel? I bought the truck used and the tire size is different from what came on the truck new according to the folded up window sticker in the glove box.

look through the tech articles on this subject, your truck is the same as the 92-96 F150 and Bronco, it has the PSOM which can be calibrated, refer to the article to the side to help

I have the same question for my '97 F150 (4.6L, 4x2).
I put 17" rims on it (takeoffs from a Navigator) and slightly taller tires.
Speeds are pretty far off now. (ie... at 60mph indicated, I'm really going almost 70mph !!)
Can I reprogram the speedo? Or something else?

Actualy ftrucktough is incorrect about it being the same as the 92-96 F150...in 96' they switched to the OBD-II computer so you can find someone with a micrtuner and do it that way, also the dealership can do it just a little more pricey $$$

I have done the calibration on a 1997 F-350 7.3L! I only said something because i had done it before. It's the dash, and speedo, and actually has the same PSOM, and it can be done the conventional way, with the OBD-II, the PSOM can be accessed with a the proper equipment and changed that way.
