I got this 7.5 inch fabtech lift on my 2000 F-150 XLT 5.4l, but now what? I know that my odo and speedo are off, but what other things are off that i am unaware of and what do i do about the speedo and odo, can i just have someone flash my computer and reset the tire size? I have 35" tires on it right now. also whats the best way to get the power back that i lost from the lift kit weight, tire weight, and extra height...chip? gears? NOS? blower? also i have looked at brake kits, cuz its not exactly easy to stop now, but i havent been able to find the info on what kind of a brake kit to put on, anybody know where i should look?
post some pics of that thing lifted, your gallery doesn't reflect a 7.5 fabtech. as far as power you need gears. everyone here pointed me to the 4:56's. You have to do the front and rear. as far as the speedo and tach, i would assume a reprogram or flash would work, i aint sure of the proper terminology at this point in my 4x4 career lol but i can say the nos and all that is a waste right now all it does is cost you more $ later on. i run 35"s on my f250 with a 3" rancho lift, i stop fine imo you may need to just get new pads or maybe you do need bigger rotors and a better system but i would check the pads i haul a 1000+ lb trailer daily and stop fine.
yeah the truck in my gallery has the 7.5 inch lift on it, with 35" tires, it doesnt look that big, but it is, theres nothing near it to show you how big it really is, but its got a 7.5 fabtech on it, at least thats what i paid for!!! and it is only a 2wd, so i dont have any gears up front right? and 4:56 is the gear ratio? how hard is that to replace? and about how much will it cost
go to summitracing.com i found the most competitive prices there and take a look at my gallery, i have a 3" rancho with 35's like i said and our trucks look about the same. not trying to doubt your intelligence because im new at this too but 7.5 just doesnt seem right you may not have got what you paid for....anyone else comment here as well
you know you are right, they look similar, i think mines a bit higher, but it doesnt look like its 4 inches higher than yours...that worries me...maybe ill give the 4wheelparts dealer a call and see what they have on record that i ordered, thats not gunna be cool if i didnt get what i thought i was getting, but that could be, because in the original order they got the wrong wheels, and they werent even close to mine, they were a different company entirely...hmmmmmmm
looking at the other pics (in particular, the one that frames out your tire) you can get an idea of how big of lift it is. i'd imagine it's right. it's not a 3", i know that...
hey, not all of us have the money to spend extra or time to find the 4x4, i bought this truck on my christmas vacation when i was going to school in illinois and had driven back here. well i got here and crashed my other truck ( 2000 f150 short bed standard cab, 4.2l V6 manual) so i had only like 4 weeks to go and find a good ford at a good price with everthing that i wanted, unfortunetly time ran short so i had to get this truck, this truck is perfect, only thing that it doesnt have is 4wd, but nobody knows that when it roars past them on the street!
Hey bla, it looks good. What did you find out on the lift? My bet is a 6". Given 2x4 and where your body now sits in reference to your frame, my bet is fabtech 6". Also if you ever do want more traction, throw a rear locker in. Alot of extra traction for the price over 2x.
Hey blah sweeet truck.. how tall are you, I seen the pic with you and your camera, just an Idea Im 5'11"
tall and with my new tires, and total lift my chin will rest on the top bed rails perfect..you look tall in the pic so it might not be a comparison.Im thinking you got a 5" lift or maybe its the skinny tires that makes it look shorter, I know a guy that has a 97 4x2 F150 2" coil spacers and rear block with a 3" body lift with 37" mudders and with our trucks side by side mine is about 3mm higher..the 4x4 trucks has a higher stance from the factory, and that might be the differance..heres a pic of mine..check out spec at bottom..
Monster buck sweet truck...
and heres a pic of a truck that has a 4" rough country lift suspension lift
from there web sight!!!
lol well I am 6'2", so my chin is higher than the bed rails, they are about at my armpit level for me, my truck total is to the top of the cab is about 86" thats roughly 7 foot. So what is the stock ride height of the 2wd 2000? if we could figure out what that is this would all be solved, lol. and i havent contacted the 4wheel parts dealer, im in australia right now, and dont even have my baby with me, so i can treally answer anything definitivly for a while, but i think i have a locker on the rear, my burnouts are both tires, not one, thats a locker right? or is that the limited slip and you mean throw on a locking hub?
Yea I have a brother thats 6'4" and you looked his size..For some reason 4wheelparts are known to goof up at times , It takes me for ever to get the right parts at times..errr, But surely they put the right lift on your truck..Im clueless on the 4x2..wow ausie I would love to ride the dirt bike over there..
You lighting them tires up your doing good...
well, in any case at leat i got a lift right! and it looks good, so maybe thats why it was only 1400 for everything, no you dont want to dirt bike over here, you rally over here
!! a good WRX STI man thats what im talking about! they have some crazy fords over here too, check my gallery and youll see some...hey liquid do you just go to different forums and see which ones you can post pics of your truck up in? or is it just a coincidence you get pics in all the forums? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/e...ost&p=4598037#
