Its not a jack really. Its for hooking up OEM XM satellite radio. If you take the headunit out you will see there is one plug in the radio with nothing in it. That’s the aux jack. There are various aftermarket manufacturers that make different interfaces that allow you to hook up other things then just the XM factory radio to it. However its my understanding that it was originally designed for OEM XM radio.
Yes
the Brandmotion interface allows you to control your IPod with the Radio controls ( and steering wheel if you have them)
it charges the IPod too.
just launched last week. Discount for FTE members
if you need a generic aux input ( mp3, sat radio, etc) then PIE makes one. with RCA inputs
the key is getting the FordCAN radio compatible PIE adapter

Will this work for my 05 SD CC with the indash 6disc changer? how do I get it with FTE discount? Is the sound quality good?

the Brandmotion IPod interface works with all of the 2005+ common ford radios ( they all have CANBuss communication protocol)
look for their advertise banner on the top of the page
go to their website, or call them directly, they are very helpful, tell them you are a FTE member and they will give you the discount
I got my brandmotion adapter today. Went out to install it to find out that it will not work with my 05 SD. Says that I need a satelite ready radio. Mine does not look like any in the pics. Well it looks like the 6disc one, but does not have the MP3 emblem on it. On the back of the radio, I only had one plug in the radio. The 26 pin one. I guess I will have to send it back, unless I am missing something.
i think the 05+ radios were all sat ready. try it first. otherwise brand motion should be able to get you the right one. your bm interface should have 16pin male and 16 pin female connectors to "t" into your harness, then a cable to the IPod.
it takes a couple minutes to initialize , so be patient if it says " no aux device"
there should be a brand motion icon displayed on the IPod
pie will work too, but is only an aux input. the brandmotion interface controls the ipod.
