locking hood

Does anyone have a picture of how to run the cable for the locking hood through the engine compartment? For a 1978 f 250

Re the hood hatch

The hood release cable runs down the top of the left inner liner & thru the radiator support then over to the hood latch. I can send a picture if you haven't figured it out yet.

The cable is supposed to have 3 or 4 little plastic hold down clips that get inserted into holes along the inner fender.

I'm still looking for some that aren't old and broken.

Doesn't the locking hood has a different latch that you need to swap out to work with the locking hood instead of the standard latch?

Yes, and Ford offered an accessory hood lock kit with everything to install one. The latch (only part of the kit that's the same) is the same one Econolines used, and might still be available from Ford. Original part number D8TZ-16700-B replaced by >>> E7UZ-16700-A

D8TZ-16700-A .. Hood Lock Kit~Key Operated

Yes, let's hope the OP has that part as well

Although he can still install the cable part.
