I think the Red Sox can take the Yankees this year. That's a ways off but I can see it happening this year. As for the World Series, I don't know. There are a lot of team that could go all the way this year.
I am glad to see the baseball season begin. It is the official end of winter (for most spots....talking about snow for wednesday here) and the boys of summer take to the field on nice green Kentucky Bluegrass.
Here in New England the Red Sox are like some cult the we all have follow. I have been a fan for over 20 years now. Since the new owners took over the marketing of that team is outstanding. Since 2004 a tickets to the sox have become impossible to obtain. You either have to sit in front of the computer for 10-20 hours hoping to get a chance or get lucky in the Red Sox lattery draw or pay through the nose (literally) on eBay or stubhub.
I got lucky this year and got some through the Red Sox. Going April 21 VS the Yankees.
Gotta put a word in for my White Sox. I think they'll be better than last year. I don't think Kenny Williams is done wheeling and dealing. I think the Tigers are going to miss Kenny Rogers for the first part of the year, but they'll be tough down the stretch. The Twins are always a threat and I think Cleveland will be better than last year. But I'm hoping for a season similar to 2005.
Elsewhere...
AL East - Red Sox should be really good. Yanks will be good. I think Toronto will surprise some.
AL West - I'd like to see the Ms turn it up a notch, but I won't hold my breath.
NL East - I'm going with the Phillies, closely followed by the Mets
NL Central - Houston's rotation is going to suffer, my brother is a Cardinal fan, so we can't pull for them. Cubs spent a ton of money and I think they'll be improved, but win the division? Hmmmm... I'm pulling for the Reds, by default.
NL West - Diamond Backs got Johnson back. I'm voting for them for that division.
Went to the Twins home opener against Baltimore. Great game. I like the Twins doing well again this year. Even though it was the first game, they looked good.
