IAC replacement?'s

Should I, or do I have to disconnect the battery after replacing the IAC?

Some would say absolutely, but yes, it corrects for any differences in the new IAC and resets parameters for any other function that the computer had adjusted because of the conditions that the bad or dirty IAC caused.

You probably should, just to let the system reset, but if you just replaced the IAC, it's not going to make a big difference, nor is it going to care if you don't reset it, it's adaptive and will learn either way.

In my experience, it will learn a little faster if the battery is disconnected, but its only an issue if the new iac is so different from the old one that the truck dies when coming to a stop.

Either leave it off for at least 5 minutes, or else step on the brake pedal with it disconnected. It needs to be off long enough for all the capacitors in the system to drain down so the kam is reset.
