Converting Cruise Control

HI,

I have a 77 F250 Supercab, (2wd, power steering) and came across a 77 regular cab (2wd, power steering) with factory cruise control in a junk yard. I would really like to get this and put it into my truck.

I have done some searching around trying to find out exactly I would need to take to convert over. It appears that I need column, wiring harness and what looks like a control box under the dash. Will this wiring harness plug into my existing harness? Will I need to make major electrical changes?

Does anyone have a good write up and or diagram that shows what to do with this?

Thanks :+)
Bill

Sorry, There's more parts than that needed.

I have everything you will need information wise to do the swap over with little trouble.

I have a couple of threads with a complete list of what one needs in them.

Here's one of them.

Unfortunately you have the hardest year for this unless you go with a 78/79 tilt column.

You see.,.... the Turn Signal switch for a 77 with cruise control is NO LONGER available anywhere.
So unless the turn signal switch for the 77 w/cruise is good..you are SOL.

Uggh,

Sounds like more than I want to deal with. Thanks for the reply :+)

If anyone is looking and wants to deal with it, the truck is at the Ecology Auto Parts in Chula Vista Ca. Baby blue 77 single cab.

The steering wheel, horn pad, and turn signal switch are each worth about $100 to any one who needs one....

The wheel and horn pad are pretty beat, not sure on the turn signal. I will have to check it out after work tomorrow.

FYI: The steering wheel, horn pad and turn signal switch used on 1975/77 F100/350's with cruise control are the exact same parts as used on like 1975/77 Econolines. The column, however is different. Lots of these E-vans lying around in yards unmolested, as they don't have the following as the F Series trucks do.
