Hey guys,I have an oil leak and have confirmed it's the valve cover gasket on the right side. I want to do glow plugs and diy injectors at the same time. The problem is.......well I have a wife and she may not let me spend all the money at once.HAHA. Anyway are the v/c gaskets reuseable or are they a one shot deal? Also anyone know who has the best price on the gaskets? Thanks.
Yep, they are reusable, they also contain wiring that goes to the injectors and GP's. They are a bit expensive so I hope that they are not your leak. You can check the Vendors above for prices or google the part #'s below:
Most of the time it is not the gasket itself that is leaking, it is usually the fact that the sealing lip on the valve cover has been bent. Before you by the gasket, pull your valve covers and check the sealing surface to make sure that they are true and flat. This could save you some green.
To test your gaskets, when you pull them, ohm out the connectors from one side to the other (outside to inside). As long as you get no cross feed, and they ohm with no resistence, they are good.
