problem with 97 psd
I have a 1997 crew cab psd with about 170k on it. For a few weeks just every once in a while after I let out on the clutch either from a stop or going down the road, I will push on the gas pedal and get nothing. The truck has not died it is just idling and once I let up on the pedal and push it again it is fine. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I also could use the part number for the block heater on this truck. It was not working last winter and I need to replace it this spring.

yep I would agree with 1997f-350 its the pedal assembly going out. could be a connection so check those close before you replace it.

Its sounds like the IVS (Idle Validation Switch) is not dis-engaging. Check the switch for sticking, broken or torn rubber boot over the button letting dirt in, connections on IVS, bent tab on the pedal that activates the IVS.
