rear differential leaking

Putting it in wont cause it to slip.
The only time the additive does anything is when the clutches have very little load and dissimilar wheel speeds. It does not affect lockup
When the bevelled spider and side gears load, the compression of the clutches FAR FAR outweigh the minor friction benefits of the additive
I'd run the additive, rebuilt MANY posis over the years, a couple of chatters and clutches are gone. I am not sure of the type in the PSD, havent done one yet, but having the additive wont hurt anything if you dont need it, but NOT having it will cook a clutch in no time
Its common to think the additive would hurt, but if you think about it, how could a single little bottle of additive cause such a reduction in friction that it could make a posi not work? No chemical is that slippery, all it does is prohibit clutches sticking during their designed release period
By far, my favorite kind is a small bottle from Mopar, followed by Ford or Kendall, then reluctantly everything else. Cheap stuff doesnt do much
Remember, a limited slip by design will only lock up with identical wheel speeds, so if you are trying to slide it sideways like a 4 wheeler, dont expect it to, the intent of the differential is to lock in a straight line ONLY or when wheel speeds are identical, as in the mud, etc
