My93 f150 4x4 has power windows. They go up and down on the driver side controlls for both windows. On the passenger side window the up only works, can't roll it down though. is there a way to fix the switch or does it have to be replaced? And if so can it be bought any where else beside the dealer?
blow it out with a air hose usually just getting the dust out will fix it. if not then try spraying some electronic tuner cleaner in and then blowing it out with air. if that doesn't work replace it.
Take the switch off of the door panel and check the connections on the back. There should be a separate wire for up and for down. I believe they are like a spade connector or something so the wires should be able to pull off and put back on. If all the connections look okay then throw a volt meter or test light on it and hit the switch (also a good way to find out which wire is the UP wire if you can't figure it out). If no voltage is going to the wire then you will need to trace it through the truck. All the wiring goes into a big wrap of wires inside the door and go forward toward the hinge. Take note of the color of the UP wire if you can figure it out, and remove the passenger kick panel. There is a hole underneath that exposes all the wires. That's the farthest I've had to go when tracing wires through You're on your own after that. Good luck.

Now that I think about it. When I cut the connection to my right door lock switch, my left one didn't work. I think that the switches feed off of each other. If only the up on the right switch is not working then I don't THINK it is the connection, probably a bad switch. Just a hunch here...
