Engine coolant

Hey Guys, Real quick. Whats the coolant additive called for when u add the green coolant? And with the test strips. How exactly do u do that? Thanks

Now simply called Motorcraft Diesel Cooling System Additive. The strips come with instructions and color chart that is used to compare level of treatment.

It's called FW-16 SCA or supplemental coolant additive. This is a decent article on the coolant system LINK.

I just did this this week, got the test strips from my local Int. dealer and the SCA additive from FOMOCO.

take a sample of coolant, dip strip, shake strip,read color of three pads on strip after 25 seconds but before 75 seconds, compare to color table to determine if you need additive. Add if necesary.

OK, I checked my local napas and they didnt have anything. He said he can order them and they will be there monday. I bought the cooling system treatment today tho. Thanks for your help!
