Ford Mavericks

is anyone here interested in ford Mavericks. I have 2 project cars and 4 parts cars.
I have a 1972 2 dr and 1974 2 dr for projects and a 1974 2dr, 1973 4 dr, 1975 4 dr and a 1973 4dr comet for parts

I love Mavericks. I had a 1975, and I still miss it. It was one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.

I learned to drive on a 4 door 76 Maverick with the 300 I6. The car is still in the family. Im hoping to own in one day. 200k miles and still goin strong.

Some one else started a thread about mavericks before and since then I have noticed about 5 or 6 running around here.There are two 4 dr dark green models that are twins and are mint and a customer of mine has a two door the same color with a little rust around the wheelwells that has been his everyday driver since new.There was one running around that sounds pretty healthy all in primer,but haven't seen it in about a month.One of the only two accidents I was in was when I smashed my moms pos 72 4dr in to a pole on ice,but I was able to drive it a mile home with the fan jammed in the radiator.I would like to have a clean two door and drop in a EFI 302 or 351 in.A buddy of mine had one with a 390 stuck in it,that thing was scary,wheel spin when ever you wanted it.

I had a 70 maverick, it was my first strip car back in 77. We put a boss 302 create motor in it, ford 4-speed toploader, a ford 9" with 4:11 gears, ladder bars and tird the frame. We went with 15" cragers all the way around and ran 50's on the rear. I had to use shackles and air shocks to clear the 50's. The only thing on the engine that wasn't stock, were the custom made headers. It ran 12.90's in the quarter all day long and then drove it home, it was no trailor queen. It was sharp, metalic blue, mint body. That car defined who I was in highschool, the girls loved it and it was the fastest car at my school. To this day if I run into someone from highschool, they refere to me as the maverick kid or ford boy. Mavericks will allways have a special place in my heart because of that car.
