I believe that "re-programmers" allow you to enter new data for the drive train components so that speed calc's are accurate.
Dealer can probably do it for you too, but they may charge more $$$ than you'd like - and it may force you into a newer "flash" version that brings along undesired characteristics.
When you're done, do you want to sell your 4.11s? I have 3.73s but it's hard to do a "trade" without one of us not having a vehicle for a while. Anyhow, I might be interested in buying your 4.11s if they're in good shape and are a fit for my truck.
I don't have a clue about what I'm asking here - compatibility wise. I have an '01 X V-10 w/ 3.73 10.5" limited slip. Match?
Am thinking of changing diff. gears from 4.11 to 3.73...Question, would this throw off the computer. Have 2000 PSD F350.
NO. The PCM will calculate the speed fine. No other modification is needed. The only time the speed is effected...is with larger or smaller tires (diameter).

OBTW: You want to go from 4.10 to 3.73? With a PSD? Those gears are obviously not OEM. The PSD only came with 3.73s...
Obviously biz know what he's talking about a lot more than I do.
Biz, is the sensor in the rear diff used in this process some how? How can the PCM tell what the ratio is?
At a former employer, we had a '04 F350 chassis cab that had 4.30 in the pumpkin. Thought it was rather low gear, but then it wasn't my money buying the truck nor the fuel. I see the truck around town from time to time...so it would appear to be still ticking; though how it's been treated is most likely not in the best of methods.
