I recently bought a 2007 F250 Short bed crew cab. When driving on the highway above 60mph there is a sway or fish tail type feeling when sudden movements to the steering wheel are made. Basically if I make a quick turn to change lanes or if I'm going around a corner and have to make a quick correction in steering the rear end seems to sway out. I drove the same basic truck at a different dealer before I bought this truck and it did not do it. Some people have said it could be the tires and that different dealers put different tires on the trucks. I have Pirelli Scorpion tires with the pressure set per recommendations but I don't know what tires the other truck I drove had. I took it to the dealer yesterday and they didn't think it was the tires but thought it was the steering box and replaced it. It didn't fix anything.

What is even worse then the sway when driving it by its self, is when I hook up my 32' tow trailer I drive down the road with the rear end constantly swaying back and forth making it hard to keep it on the road. You know how sometimes pulling a trailer and a Big Rig truck passes you and it pulls you into it, well, that happens even when a motorcycle passes me. The trailer is balanced correctly for tongue weight, I use a friction sway control system, and a weight distribution system. The trailer is only ~8,500 lbs which is way below the limits of the truck.
Mine does the same thing at 60+ MPH. I also have the Scorpion tires up to recommended pressure. I truly believe it is just the nature of the tires (tread design), size of the tires, and YES, big heavy truck.
tweimer -- Do you have the sway-bar out back? It comes with a few packages...like the Camper Package, etc.
TIP: While emtpy...I recommend NOT having the tires at FULL specs according to the VIN sticker on the door pillar. There is absolutely NO reason for it while empty.
I just rotated my tires yesterday and now I have the sway as well. It was fine before I rotated them ,but I noticed it within a mile of my house. My rear tires were pretty worn and the fronts are still ok, but were starting to feather and I want to get a few more months out of them. I am going to check the pressures in a little while, but I'm thinking that it might be the warn tires that are on the front wondering. If when I check the psi it does not go away, I will rotate them again to make sure that is it.
