2003 6.0 concerns?

2003 6.0 concerns?
Looking at a 2003 6.0 f350 with 97,000 on it. don't know any of the history. is there anything i should be concerned about with this setup or are there alot of problems with the 1st 6.0 diesels? thanks in advance!

I would personally look for something newer. But if you really like it, get an oasis report from your dealer, so you can see whats been done on it mechanically. It could be a lemon, or it could be one of the great ones. How it was maintained is also critical.

please remember one ting here..think of all the 03 6.0l that ford sold.......thousands im sure...a few had problems with them and went on the net and everyone thinks they are nothing but trouble...get ahold of one of the techs on here and ask for the Oasis it well tell you alot...do not be afraid of the 6.0L hey are great motors when taken care of and updated....good luck!

I have a friend who just traded an '03 6.0 with something over 100,000 miles. He began having some problems (3 injectors replaced, turbo replaced) after 70,000 or so. I think the '03s/early '04s had the majority of the problems so widely talked about. At the same time, there are many who have never had a problem with their '03s/'04s. I had a late '04 build F250 that I just traded for an '07 F350. Had 54,000 and never a problem. Well except replacing an EGR valve at 35,000.
