2V OC head milling

how far can you "safely" shave these heads? street & race opinions welcome.

0.040" is the specified limit. There are much better options for raising compression.

thanks for the info...you are correct about better ways to increase compression...but i need to run this exercise thru & satisfy my curiosity.

do you have a guess-timate as to how much this would reduce chamber volume from stock?

The American 2V chamber is basically round with approximately the same diameter as the cylinder bore. Figure the area of the cylinder times the amount you shave off. Or about 0.126 cubic inches per 0.010"

check my math

did i calc. correct? a reduction of approx. 8cc?

About 2cc per 0.010", 8cc looks right for 0.040".
