It's a vacuum canister that holds vacuum so that under acceleration, you still have enough vacuum to keep the vents on you climate control from defaulting to defrost. Are you talking about the passenger side?
another question i have is why do ford with fuel injection not want to start when the sit for a weekor so i found u have to touch the throtle to get them to start
1. That is a vacuum reservoir. It is there to keep your vacuum-operated accessories (ie, HVAC controls) from being affected by varying manifold vacuum during different throttle operating conditions.
2. Your IAC valve is probably sticking closed. Cleaning itusually helps in the short term, replacement is usually needed to properly correct.
does the 97 5.4 have that same canister? i know i have a small canister about 5in X 5in thats mounted on the battery bracket between the fender. Does the 5.4 also have that huge one between the inner and outer fenders?
The vacuum reservoir is discontinued from Ford.
