300 ci I6 torque?
Ok i have done some research and i cant seem to find what the torque is for the 300ci I6 engine that they put in the bronco's from 1980's till 1993 since i have the same tranny that they used which was the Mazda M5OD R2. I know they had roughly 145 hp but i need to put over 300 ft-lbs through this tranny and need to know if it will hold.

the motor would, the tranny probably not. I know people that have your same tranny behind 5.8 motors and they dont hold up long to its 310trq. the 300-6 trq is like 250-260 i beleive, you might ask over in the 300-6 forum. I highly suggest finding a zf 5-speed, they were common in f250/f350's running the small block motor. this tranny has a granny low first and of course OD and will handle 400lbs of trq.

no but i want to make more power outta my motor and i need to know if i should put a different transmission on it but if the tranny will hold 280ft-lbs of torque no problem then i wont worry about it.
