Free

Does anyone want a F150 4x4 for free? I know a guy who has access to one, sitting on a property that needs to go. Apparently, the prior owner was and elderly guy and passed away, leaving behind his truck. The new owners of the property want it gone. I think it is an 86 or so. The body is a little rough. The bed has a rust area on the left side and both doors have dents in them. (I think the dents could be popped out though). The rest is in pretty straight condition. I don't know if it runs but what do ya want for nothin? It looks like the running gear is ok, but it has a couple of trash bags on the front seat.
Anyway, I went by the house where it is stored and looked at it this morning, and the gal that lives on the property said that someone was supposed to take it away but didn't show up. It is in a kind of remote area. There may be title issues, but I believe that all you would have to do is send a request to the last registered owner's address, get a refusal receipt stating that he is deceased, then bring that to the DMV for a new title. At least that is what I have done in the past under similar circumstances. If nothing else, it would sure be a good parts truck on the way to the wrecking yard.

If interested, I wouldn't wasted too much time. It will probably go to the junk yard soon. Let me know.

I would love to have a free 4x4, however, I would have no way of getting it down here. Can't tow anything with my truck while the camper is on it. And have nothing else that would be able to.

I wouldn't hardly know what to do with it. Don't need any more projects and haven't got the room to store it.

Tempting though...you're really mean, Tim!

Well, it's only a half-ton and a newer body style that a lot of us aren't really all that crazy about. I could have gotten us an '85 F250 4X4 for nothing, with a rough but useable body but some members didn't really want to go that way. It was thought that a bumpside would cooler, and I tend to agree.

That is cool. I didn't know we were looking for specific years, thought that we were just looking for a 4x4.

Well, we wanted an older 4X4. A slick would've been cool too, anything that's not quite so common.
