The only question I have is this... How does the build sheet you're talking about differ from the details available on an OASIS report?

 

F250, the build sheet shows you the build date and all the standard and optional equipment that yoaur truck came with. An Oasis report shows all the recall/warranty work done on your truck, as far as I know.

 

Note, I saw somebody above mention the OASIS report...the build sheet is not the same is an OASIS report. The build sheet only shows when, where and what options were built on the vehicle.

 

I have my OASIS for my truck, and it actually contains the build date and a lot of other details. The details are found by deciphering the coded header information on the first entry of the "detailed" OASIS. I just got through chasing this issue to ground two days ago, and was very surprised at the level of detail within the OASIS that the average guy (like me) doesn't know how to decipher. Below is exactly what I'm talking about from my own OASIS report.

Now, at the same time, I am going to call and get my build sheet as well, because I can envision the possibility that it might jsut have more details than in the OASIS. I just wanted to let you guys know that the OASIS, though, does contain a lot more information on your vehicle than just the Warranty repair history.

As you can see, some of the information between these two lines is not hard to match up (dates, VIN, miles, etc.), but others are extremely ccryptic, and unless you know the "secret code", there is no way to know if two sets of abbreviated acronyms are actually part of a single heading or not.

Now, putzhall3's reported information looks like it actually contains a little more than just the heading definitions in my OASIS... who knows... maybe he ran a build sheet without specifically saying so. I'll find out soon enough, though.

 

On a 68 Cougar it's probably still between the seat cushions and seat springs. Look from the floor under the seats. If you can see the seat springs it might be there. That's where my 79 Ranchero buildsheet was.

 

There are several pages to the Oasis report. It contains all this info. Very little is in code form if you look at it on Fords website were they get the Oasis from........
