It was last summer that someone from here was making these clear AiRaid intake covers. For the life of me I can't remember who it was. Can someone help me. I have a friend that wants one.
I imagine thats Plexi... Or a clear acrylic... Just a shop dremel would work.. We do that kinda work on Customer Computer Cases (back in my Mod days)... There is more advanced methods such as Laser Graving and so fourth..
Local wise.. Lemme think.. Shops... This is gonna sound bad.. Check with Tombstone Companies.. They use the same method to engrave headstones..
Also check with Award Companies that do award pieces.. They also use engraving machines as well..
Yes its plexi. He did it on some type of machine. Probably cost too much to own for a cheap item like this. You would have to sell alot of them.
Good ideas though, I will check into that.
Thanks
Just judging by the picture.. He probably has a laser etcher.. Which yes, can run upwards of 10g's... But someone with skillful hands can do that with a Dremel.. But based on that Photo, that font type appears to be Comic Sans and I don't know anyone who could do that with a dremel that good.. So I'm betting he had a laser etcher or a computer controlled etcher..
Yeah try those shops... Might even check the internet as well.. I'll dig up my old contacts if you like.. We had a few shops we used for laser cut/engraved Acrylic through the internet..
