voltage regulator wiring
my 87 f250 has a alternator put on by a prviuos owner, it has a external regulator with 4 wires on it there are 3 wires coming from the alternator, i know ones feild ans ones ground think the others stator but not sure. this alternator isn't wired up to the regulator so it wont charge i can full fild it an it will charge so i know thw alternators good i just need to know what wires go where, thanks in advance

Although it is 86 info I have checked and they are the same hookup......
