anybody else? i am having a hard time getting any info on the 'net about this on my own. hey homer or nassty, do you two have any websites you could point me to with wiring diagrams/cluster diagrams that might help me? it would be much appreciated. i've already asked the parts guy at my local dealership but i think he didn't know/ignored the fact that i didn't have the xl/stx cluster. he quoted me appoximately ~$1200 for parts and labor and he said that was low estimate that included a new cluster i don't need.
It would appear since you have many of the XLT options, yours might have full XLT wiring an that you might be able to swing that. Dont have any way to say for sure though.
I've got an STX regular cab with power everything, tow package, and a tach as well. Bought it in Nashville in August 2006, they had a whole row of them. MSRP was 24,600 and i got it for 18,300. pretty good deal i think. now that i'm thinking about there weren't a whole lot of STXs that didnt have the power group at that time. Got everything i wanted without having to get carpet.

I'd call Ed @ http://www.discountfordpartsaty2kford.com/ If you give him your vin# he might be able to tell you which harness your truck has.
If that doesn't work you could remove the instrument cluster and look yourself.
bumpity bump bump. i know somebody else has to be interested in this same upgrade. it was really nice having that compass. the thermometer was a bonus, but unnecessary, but still nice to have after getting used to in my other xlt.
hey willie, i sent you a private message with my vin # and i also emailed y2k a few days ago, but neither message has given me a response yet. what's the deal, yo?
I am sorry about that I have not really had the time to do anuything other then learn a new computer system that we are getting and learn it from some guys that dont know what is going on. I am getting all the questions answered and I will get a response to you today.
The Roush cluster I had my eye on on ebay sold oh well I wasn't looking foward to doing that mod anyway.
You could probably find a XLT cluster pretty cheap. That way you would have a tach and with the right modules you may get the temp and compass to work.
FYI, the Roush cluster is a standard FX4, Lariat, etc. cluster with a Roush overlay made by US Speedo. You can't order it from US Speedo though, unfortunately. I managed to get mine upgraded through Roush, because they didn't make it for 2006 except for the 3 stage. The swap is very easy - remove the screws on the panel, drop the steering wheel as far as the tilt will go, pull out the cluster, unplug the wiring harness and its out. Installation is the reverse. Takes about 15 minutes.
