My brother owned a Courier before he bought the Ranger, and he loved it. I like the '81-82 (I think) style, but have never owned one myself. Was going to buy one a couple of years ago from a dealer down south but he sold it to an employee before I got there.

Couriers are spoken of here when the topic comes up, there's just not that many around anymore and are experience is limited. We have had alot of positive feed back when it is decussed.
I have an 82 Courier and a 84 Ranger.
Both have the same 2.3L engines, so mechanically not too much different in those two years.
The Ranger only came with a one barrel carb, the Courier has a two barrel. So the Courier runs circles around the Ranger...
There is a site devoted to these little trucks and a pretty good size knowledge base is being assembled there, including dropping them on the ground, and doing the 302 swaps. In fact one member over there has a 400 in his...
I don’t mean to highjack the thread, but I always found the Courier/Mazda B truck relationship interesting.
Back in the day folks were still so anti-Japanese when it came to buying vehicles.
Everyone would praise their American built vehicle and the whole time while Ford, Chevy and even Chrysler were holding hands with the enemy.
There were Ford Couriers, Chevy LUV (Toyota) trucks and Chrysler had a whole string of Plymouth/Mitsubishi products stretching back way into the 1970’s.
I didn't know the Chevy Luv was a Toyota. Learn something new everyday on this site. I knew about the Plymouth Arrows, and Dodge D-50's (owned two D-50's myself, good little trucks) The Dodge Colt was also Mitsubishi, however, I never had one of those.

I just wanted to add a clarification about the LUV. I was made for GM by Isuzu. The old LUV I had is long gone, but I still have the original 1972 shop manual for it.
courier is spoken of here somewut, i sought out to get a courier section on this forum as i myself own 2 ford couriers a 72 and a 76 but it wasnt gonna happen so i just made a courier site and has been growing slowy but surely ever since.
My first Ford was an 80' Courier. Mine actually had the Ford Motor and not the Mazda motor. Anyway great trucks, still see one on the road every now and then -

What's the name of your site for Couriers? I know where there is one that I have been looking at but would like to learn alittle more about them.
