Ignition system

Does anyone know which ignition system came on the 86 EB's? (351W) Better yet, what do I look for to find out for myself?

I'd suspect that you have a carb and duraspark 2. Duraspark 1/2 is distingished by the color of the connector or one of the wires in the harness. The duraspark module is a steel box about 4"x4" bolt on to the drivers side fender usually. If you start at the distributor, two of the three wires should run right to it. the harness from the coil should also go there.

Im not sure when ford changed the 351 over to EFI. If yours has a carb you have the duraspark 2 if it has EFI then you have the EEC IV. one other quick way to check is look at your distributor, If it has a Vacuum advance you have the duraspark 2 if there are wires coming from the side of the distributor you have EEC IV
