I seem to be getting about .5/.6 mpg better in town, but indistuigishable difference on the highway with the Power Intake Elbow on my '06 Automatic. That puts me up to about 10.8/10.9 in town from cold start to work and back. BTW, mine is from Intake Elbows. Is that about what the rest of you are seeing?
I'm up by 1 full MPG overall. The last .3 MPG came after the MAP sensor was replaced. I'm seeing better overall performance and an aggregate BIG SMILE! 15.1 MPG 50% freeway, 50% city...
you guys are getting a lot worse than mine, at 14.0 averaged out and still breaking in. 10-11 is horrible. i got better than that running 80 mph towing a snowmobile trailier up to ny state. are you guys stomping on the pedal all the time?
i keep mine under 2k for hte most part but get into her a few times a week to clean out the cobwebs ya know.
Does anyone offer the intake elbow without a pressure sensor port? I have a boost guage built into my truck, don't think I really need another one.
The port is standard but also blocked.. It wouldn't make any difference in machine cost to make it without a port.. There's an allenkey bolt with teflon that seals it until you "add" a gauge, which in your case you don't need so your ok.
Two days ago, I installed my 05-06 PDP elbow on my 04 X with an 03 motor. Did you follow that? Makes my head hurt. Anyway, the fit was great and I got rid of that useless TB. I'm not sure about any MPG increases yet but it appears, after driving it almost 100 miles yesterday, that the throttle response is noticeably better and it starts quicker. Just my 2c worth.
An update, today I got approximately 1 mpg better than any time previously. I think the last few trips I was varying my speed too much. This engine seems to really react negatively to variations in speed. I guess this is a diesel thing. BTW, I got just over 20 MPG driving almost all interstate at 60-68. I mostly used the cruise control to speed up or slow down. I was glad to finally pass 20 MPG. BTW, I have the Zoodad mod, the intake elbow, and I use Diesel Kleen. I'm hoping I can get just a little better when my Walker BTM gets here and I get it installed.
