Next-Generation Bronco
Any new rumors on a next-generation Bronco? With the 2003 K5 Blazer concept out there, I'm hoping Ford will panic, play catch-up and bring out a Bronco to keep up. Yes, I'd love to see a short-wheelbase Excursion with it's SuperDuty drivetrain, but at this point I'd settle for a short-wheelbase Expedition or even an Explorer Sport with a beefed-up drivetrain. Saw a nice '99 Tahoe (2-door) Sport on a lot the other day and it got my blood boiling again...I really miss the full-sized/short-wheelbase combo in general.

I wish Ford would bring back the two-door Bronco.There were rumors,and posts awhile back saying prototypes based on both the Expedition&Excursion models were being discussed.I'd like to see it built on an Expedition platform,rather than an Excursion's.Since Broncos were base on 1/2 ton platform before,I would think the 1/2 ton platform Expedition would be what a next generation Bronco would be based upon.I mean,if they choose to build them....let's just hope they add the Navigator's 300hp 5.4L to the new Bronco's options list.

I have serious doubts that Ford will add a Bronco to its line up. With the escape, explorer, expedition, and excursion, I think they may figure that they have all of their bases covered. It's too bad, though...the Bronco is by far the coolest SUV around.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-Mar-02 AT 02:22 PM (EST)]Well about 1 year ago i read in a ford mag (will have to dig for it) that ford has messed around with some designs for the Next-gen bro... it will ride on the expedition chassies with a super-duty front end.... it wont have the nice fiberglass top anymore and rumers have it the excurstion is on the outs... lol.. hell even if the bring out the Expedition sport or the likes we all know we can peel off the lable and put one on the says bronco

If they do bring back the bronco i haope they keep it as a removeable top it would suck to have a hard top much like those ramchargers (i hate those) if it wasnt for the expedition we would still have the ever loved bronco!!!:7
