I am having alot of trouble getting the brake rotors off my 89 F-150. Its a 4X4 with warn manual hubs. Anyway I have the caliper off and the pads and everything off but i cant seperate the rotor from the piece in front of it at all.I tried prying it off, I even bought a gear puller because thats what the manual said i would need but i dont want to crank it down very much for fear of breaking something. I have heard that the rotor is 1 piece and that it is 2. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Pics or diagrams would help because the haynes manual doesnt have many. thanks.
After you take bearings out pull off rotor lay flat drive lugs out and the rotor and hub will come apart. I looked at the single piece at auto parts it was just hub and rotor( Sold as unit). But you can buy just rotor get new seals and repack bearing before put on.
Hey thanks alot for the link and the advice. I just got it finished putting the new rotors back on. I havent had them turned yet but i probably will in the near future. I really appreciate the help guys!
Yep have them turned just to clean up (true) I took a set to the big M in brakes . (it was week end they where only ones open . They must have only 2 setting to much and way to much . They trashed my new rotors.
