ok here is a picture...this pisses me off...i guy actually pointed it out and said ... thats a really nice truck but that part of your bumper really looks like crap...
o yeah one other thing i did get into a little wreck but all i did was clip the side of a van backing out of a parking spot with the front corner of my bumper...plastic cracks it doesnt warp under strain right? <---sarcasm not stupidity
Should be nice and even, no waves. Here's my 2007, just home from the dealer:
Of course, the entire truck just got painted so it looks way different now.
I don't like the design of the 05-07 bumper..that top cover is way to soft. And if the metal section does get tweaked, it will make the top cover get real wavey. I saw this on a local guy's truck who bought a bumper off of ebay. I sold him the chrome bottom off of my 07 and now his top pad is nice and even and smooth like it should be. With the old one, it had 3 waves in it.
My 05 has this problem. I took a copy of the TSB to the dealer. When I picked up the truck they didn't fix it because I have a front hitch installed and there was a small scratch in it because I parked up against a chain link fence. Any idiot could figure out that neither one of these things caused the warp.
Mine is warped also. When I first bought it, I had it in for a tire recall and they tried to straighten it with a heat gun. I might try again since there's a TSB now. You can kind of see it in this picture:
I'm gonna look at mine when I get home now, I think it's fine though because as **** as I am I would have noticed that. I will say one thing though, These bumpers are pretty crappy in general. I think they are getting thinner and thinner every year. My rear bumper is actually wavy on the bottom, near both corners. You can only really see it if you look from under the truck. It's so cheezy that if you grab hold of it you can actually flex the metal a bit by hand.
