I'm confused by your grammar.

I'm guessing you wanted to know if short beds could have dual tanks in 73-79. Yes, they could. 73-79 2wd and 77 1/2-79 4x4 trucks with 6' 1/2 beds could be ordered with dual tanks.

Para su informacion:

Not one thing listed in the 1973/79 Ford truck parts catalogues shows any short beds with an optional midship tank. No gas tanks listed, no illustrations of any dual tank short wheelbase models 2WD or 4WD. Nada.

The only thing Ford does show is the SWB models with the in cab tank and an optional aft axle tank. In cab tanks were not available after 1977.

What do you mean?? I've seen several 6' 1/2 beds with factory dual fuel doors out there. Not as common as the 8', but they are out there.

Aft axle tank? Is that the same thing as the in-cab tank?

Absolutely nothing is shown in the parts book of a SWB pickup with a midship tank. No part numbers are listed, no illustrations show a SWB with dual tanks. The only illustration with more than one tank on a SWB shows the in cab and aft axle tank...that's it.

Factory fuel doors were introduced in mid year 1977.

Edit: no fuel filler pipes listed either.

Why doesn't Ford list a midship tank for a SWB Styleside? Dunno...but I found this for 1977/79.

D7TZ-9927841-E .. Left Quarter Panel Assy. Use with 6 3/4' box WITH DUAL FUEL DOORS.

darn good thing I didn't bet anyone...feel kinda sheepish.

My apologizes. (Ford, you did it again!)

This is interesting. After looking through some trucks on ebay the only short bed I found with dual fuel doors is a crew cab. 170094616961 Maybe the ones with regular cabs just dont have enough room for the midship tank. Yip you learn something new every day!

The funny thing is Ive seen one RC SB 4x4 with a bed that had dual doors but one tank. I figured the bed wasnt original to the truck since it had no rust and the cab did.
