OK I know I stumbled across this before But I cant find it even with the search..
2004 >> I have the fun and excitement of the EGR curse... upon load the truck bucks and blows smoke... I know its the EGR because when I remove and clean it and reinstall the truck runs perfect for about 8 months..then same BS happens again.. Its never THAT dirty But I guess just enough to cause an issue..
ANYWAY.. What is the part number for the NEWER/HEAVIER SPRING updated EGR valve for the 03/04 models?? I remember reading where they have an update PN for one with a heavier spring.. ALSO I am assuming that I can just swap this one in>>as in there is not different programing that factors in with the swap..IE no reflash..
With the 100 deductable Id rather just swap the EGR myself and spend less..
Well I dont want to take mine in simply because its hit or miss... Chances are if I bring it in they will say everything is OK.. and send me packin..Untill it gets sooo bad that they will easily have it happen..
sorry not working today. well im here just not the work so i have some brains to share. lol
I'll take you up on that offer, BowTieHatr! an excerpt from my "Trip" post, "...He told me that he read some codes. I'm thinking {how did he do that? I cleared the KAM before I left the house}. Anyway, the truck popped a P0401 (from the EGR unplug of distant past) and a P1328 that is a WHAT?? I have NO idea..."
My question are:
Does killing the KAM clear codes? (my guess is now, NO!)
03s and early 04s have a wild strategy for the pcm to create boost. p132b code is where the strategy has not been learned or there is a problem with the strategy learning procedure. several of the sensors could be off, or you clearing kam could do it if the proper steps are not followed for the relearn procedure. my question is why would you reset kam anyways? this effects the strategy that these trucks need.

I neglected to mention the VGT relearn was also completed after the KAM kill. I did it after I took the power elbow off in an attempt (however feeble) to return the trucks strategy to that of a "stock" configuration. It is apparent that I guessed wrong, and/or the static VGT relearn strategy is insufficient to keep the p132b code (thanks for the correction) from throwing...
