found a plug

i took off my front bumper today to clean it cuz i'll be getting it powdercoated black soon and i found a male end 3 prong plug hanging down. the only time i saw this was on my gf's dads 360 ferrari since he brings it to alot of car shows and plugs it in to keep the battery charged. is this what mine is for?

Engine block heater, or battery tender. Most likely Block heater.

Its a block heater cord. They are tucked away at the factory.

People usally plug it in when its under 20*. I actually did not plug my truck in at all last winter during the cold snaps we had here in MI. You just plug it in and its heats the coolant and makes it easier to start.

If the temps are anywhere below 30 degrees F than you might want too plug it in...but you really only need to plug it in three or four hours before you need to start it. Also when you plug it in go over to the drivers side front wheel well and listen for a sizzleing sound...thats how I make sure it is working.

Could it possible be a plug for the fog lights, if they were installed?

my heater is located on the passenger side, not the drivers side and lionsteve, this is most likely the block heater plug, they get tucked away in the plastic right around the passenger side towhook so they aren't flopping around all the time

I am assuming it looks something like this regardless of what side it was on

If so, block heater

Oh yeah, only use a 12 ga. cord to hook it up and preferably a 20A circuit.
They have been known to burn the truck up literally when underfed.
