Im still collecting parts (and funds) for my SAS. What radius arm brackets did you use--the 94 or 79 ones? Also, did you make drop brackets for them or leave them up near the frame? Do you have any pictures? Thanks
Jordan
I am currently using a combination of my 94' radius arm brackets with a dropdown bracket from a 4" lift. The axle angles were within tolerance. This is only a quick fix until this summer. I have drawn up the new ones which will include a crossmember piece. I hope to have longer custom ones made sometime next year. I am in the process of making a gallery. I will let you know when it is completed.
I see your from Midwest Il. I grew up their myself.

94' Ford F-150 4X4, 7" suspension lift, Solid front axle swap (Dana 44), 4.56 gears, 35" BFG M/T, Warn winch, custom bumpers.
I have a Dana 44 sitting in the shop to rebuild once the weather warms up some. I plan on using the '78 raduis arms with my 95 brackets. I plan on using 78 f150 4" lift coils with the swap. I hope to complete the swap by the end of the summer.

ps - I hope the weather is better where you are than the 9 degree and snowy conditions we have here in midwest il

I think with the 4" coils there is a good chance that the gear section of the Dana 44 will hit the engine crossmember on a regular basis. I get it to hit every-now-and-again with 6.5" coils when I am out playing. I have not gotten my bumpstops on yet. Something to think about. I am still working on the picture gallery.

I have read quite a bit and am still researching exactly what components I want use. I would rather have 4" of lift rather than 6" just because I need my truck for towing from time to time. I need to measure and see what kind of clearances I will be dealing with when putting in the new axle. Putting a 4" lift and adding bump stops to restrict travel may be an option, but im really not sure at this point. Don't use the truck for any sort of hardcore off roading, just farm and hunting use....pulling, hauling, driving back into pastures and fields, etc.
whats up with all of the dicks that come through here and get pissy when they dont get what they want to hear? google turned up all kinds of full write ups.... http://www.stubig4x4.com/tech-pages/StraightAxle.aspx

They just have no clue, and are used to mommy and daddy doing everything for them, so they get pissy and throw a tantrum when you tell them to "do a search". Heck, just doing a search in this forum and in the tech articles, there are numerous threads on how to do the SAS swap. That was all I used when I did mine.
I have stupid question, if I put the dana 44 (out of a 79 bronco) into my 94 bronco and do as i have learned on this thread. Can I put 8 lug roters on the dana 44 to match the dana 60 I have for the rear. it is and will remain a coil over setup. Thanks Jim

Yes you must get hd44 spindles and rotors and hubs. Maybe knuckles to I can't remember, but it is possible and bolt on
I did the swap in 2001 on my '94 F150. I posted the parts list in this off road section a few years back. A common misconception I hear all the time is you must use 6" lift coils. Not true!!!!!! I used 4" lift coils for a '79 F150. I wheeled that bitch and never hit the pumpkin or crossmember. If I can't find my parts list here, I'll post a new one.
The swap is easy and pretty straight forward. As for the 8 lug outers, as already mentioned, you need everything from the spindles out. The capiler backing plates will fit, but you need to trim and reinforce your 1/2 ton knuckles. If you can find them, it would just be easier to swap everything from the knuckles out and be done with it.
