Replacement fuel tank

Replacement fuel tank
I've been looking into getting a larger fuel tank because a lot of the areas I travel are pretty deserted and when you get to half full it's time to start looking for a station. If I'm getting around 10mpg pulling my trailer, then I'm going to be filling up approximately every 150 miles.
Would ya'll recommend a replacement tank or an auxillary tank like a toolbox combo or something similar? From the website below I could get a 46 gallon replacement tank or a 30 gallon toolbox tank that would get me up to a total of 60.5 gallons. The toolbox tank is twice as expensive as the replacement tank, but I could re-use the toolbox with a new truck.
I found this website and was wondering if anyone had done business with them and what their experience was? Would you recommend them or are there better companies?
http://www.transferflow.com/index.html
Thanks so much for any help.

TexasTroop,
If you are going to get a replacement or auxillary fuel tank, the only one to go with is Transfer Flow. They are one of only a couple of aftermarket fuel tank manufactures that meet all of the State (including California) and Federal safety and emission rules. All of there tanks are DOT certified which is needed for commercial work or anytime you drive across state lines. They also supply the majority of tanks to RV manufactures because they meet all the RIVA specs.
Several people on this forum have Transfer Flow tanks. You may find a tank from another manufacture for a little less money, but it won't be made as well. Carrying extral flammable liquid in a substandard container can be a dangerous propsition. IMHO go with Transfer Flow.
Hope this helps

texas troop, I know there is another outfit that sells a decent fuel tank that sits in the bed of the truck and connects directly into the fuel filter area. The tank was advertised in one of the mags I get but I can't remember the name right off. My friend had a tool box already mounted in his 6.0L and put this 30 gallon tank directly in back of the cab and in front of the tool box. It only takes up about 7 inches and gives you an extra 30 gallons of fuel. I can talk to my friend to get the name of the company if you like? He only paid about 750-800 dollars with shipping and the outfit was open to changes in design to custom fit if needed. This tank has it's own fuel guage sending unit installed and hooks up at the fuel filter by the chassis. A switch changes tanks and also uses the in dash guage to register fuel level. It was much cheaper than the Transfer Flow and the quality looked very good, IMO.

I spoke with the transfer flow company today, and they said they're still testing the replacement tank to make sure all the dimensions and wiring are the same for the 08's. The sales lady said they would have the toolbox combo approved in the near future but it might be a couple of months before the replacement tank is ready for the 08's.
I'm leaning towards the toolbox since I can get it quicker and I'll double my fuel capacity to 60 gallons versus the 46 gallon replacement tank.

We are going with the this in bed tank from Transfer Flow: http://www.transferflow.com/express-ufs.html I like it because it's simple - automatically pumps fuel when the OEM tanks reaches 1/2 full and shuts off when it reaches 3/4 full.
Adds 70 gallons to the stock 38 gallons in the 2008 F-450 Pickup which should keep us out of trouble when RVing in unfamiliar territories.
